In our industry, it is normal to see fluctuations in prices. That’s just how business works. It’s simple supply and demand, any college Economics professor will tell you that (believe me when I say, they WILL tell you that). But in the past few months’ softwood lumber prices have seen a drastic upsurge in price. This might have something to do with the tariffs placed on Canadian imports or the current market for softwood lumber. But in the last month or so, British Colombia has been dealing with massive wildfires that are sweeping though their fields.
At McIntosh Box and Pallet we see this breaking news all the time! And it is our goal to keep our readers informed. In the coming days, deals are going to hopefully be made to combat these drastic price increases. But until then, the good people here at McIntosh Box and Pallet are doing what we can to keep you in the loop.
Bloomberg Markets posted an article explaining the latest price fluctuations the Lumber Industry is experiencing. Hit the link and check it out!
